Communication & Meetings

What the Cal connector can do

Cal handles the booking pages and calendar syncing behind a team's scheduling flow, but changes to an existing booking usually mean opening the app directly. With Cal connected in type.com, an operations or sales Space can ask Claude to add an attendee, cancel a booking by its ID, or check free and busy time on a calendar, right from the thread where the request came up.

One connection, many Spaces

Connect Cal once, then decide which Spaces can use it in threads, skills, automations, and coding work.

FAQ

Questions people ask before connecting Cal

Can Claude manage Cal bookings from type.com?

Yes. Once Cal is connected to a Space, you can ask the agent to add an attendee, cancel a booking, or check availability, and the result is visible to your team in the thread.

How does type.com authenticate with Cal?

Cal supports both OAuth and an API key. An admin sets up whichever method fits the account once, then controls which Spaces can use the connection.

Can scheduling checks run automatically?

Yes. A recurring check, such as confirming tomorrow's calendar availability each morning, can be set up as a type.com automation that posts to a channel.

Is this the same as a Cal MCP server?

Not exactly. type.com uses connectors and connections to give selected Spaces access to approved app tools and data. Some connectors use hosted MCP, while others use OAuth, API keys, service accounts, or custom APIs.
